Mālie Foundation 2010 Schedule of Events
A request was made to Mayor Bernard Carvalho to declare March 2010 ‘Olelo Hawai’i month. The focus is to promote ‘olelo Hawai’i by encouraging Kaua’i businesses to have their customer’s write their checks in Hawaiian. To assist with this process, Malie Foundation along with their networking partners will provide number charts indicating numbers in Hawaiian from one to five million. It will also give us the opportunity to help educate our community that Hawaiian is an official language of the State of Hawai’i.
‘Olelo No’eau Week Malie Foundation has partnered with other Kaua’i businesses and organizations to sponsor an ‘Olelo No’eau (Hawaiian Proverb) for the week. KESU Radio will announce the ‘Olelo No’eau chosen for each week. This is another opportunity to work together with the community and to help fulfill Malie Foundation’s mission of perpetuating, promoting and educating the Hawaiian culture.
‘Olelo Hawai’i Lecture Series The year of 2010 the Malie Foundation celebrates the YEAR OF ‘OLELO HAWAI’I. The ‘Olelo Hawai’i Lecture Series is one of Malie Foundations way to fulfill its mission to promote, educate and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture in our community.
